"The CAMS program and faculty are excellent. By allowing students to choose an area of focus with degree options such as individual studies, ancient languages or ancient archaeology, the diverse and knowledgeable faculty encourages individual growth and exploration in each student's desired field of research, fully supported by the various in-depth classes offered year-round by our department. Small class sizes and individual attention as given by our expert faculty create positive atmospheres for exploring the ancient world. CAMS students are encouraged to apply our knowledge through study abroad whether for a semester in Athens, Greece, or for three weeks in Rome, Italy or on a dig in Egypt. As a past participant in the Rome program and with friends who participated in the study abroad opportunities to Greece and Egypt, I highly recommend supplementing study of the ancient world with one of these indescribable, amazingly-beneficial experiences. While learning hands-on about the ancient world, our department also prepares its students for graduate study through numerous 500-level classes and rigorous language study. I would not trade my experience with CAMS classes and faculty for any other here at Penn State!'
